Born and raised in rural western Kentucky, Dr. Vaughn is proud to now be in the Sunshine State helping patients from all walks of life maintain good oral function through dedicated prevention, education, and high-quality care. Keep reading below to learn more about his background.
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Vaughn has always had a passion for helping others. Being able to help someone achieve not only great oral health, but a stronger, more confident smile is such a rewarding experience, and he’s never looked back when it comes to his chosen career path.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Vaughn’s education journey started at Kentucky Wesleyan College, where he majored in Chemistry and Biology, graduating with a Bachelor of Science. He then spent two years working in pharmaceutical research before choosing to embark on the oral healthcare path. He completed his Master of Science in Oral Biology at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine shortly thereafter. Following graduation, he attended a one-year residency at the University of Kentucky where he trained in oral surgery, dental implants, and sedation dentistry.
Today, Dr. Vaughn has an extensive background in clinical research and has been published in the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants. He is currently a candidate for Associate Fellow in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and is also a member of the following organizations:

Dr. Vaughn is a certified Invisalign provider. Together with his wife Dr. Amiee Vaughn, he has regularly traveled to countries like Belize and the Philippines in order to provide important oral healthcare to underserved populations.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Vaughn’s family still lives in Kentucky; he has two younger sisters and enjoys spending quality time with them whenever possible. He is a great guitar player, and other personal hobbies include paddle boarding, traveling, mountain biking, camping, and participating in triathlons.
