We Welcome All Dental Insurance

Dental insurance is supposed to make it easier for patients to afford their needed services, but that doesn’t mean it’s simple to use. Between deductibles, annual maximums, and benefit schedules figuring out the right ways to utilize your dental insurance plan can be confusing.

At Jupiter Implant & Cosmetic Dentistry, we’re ready to do all the hard work for you. We’ll not only accept your plan but we’ll also go over your benefits with you so you know the best ways to use them. You’ll find our quick guide to dental insurance below that will cover the basics, but for questions about your particular plan, feel free to give us a call anytime.

Understanding How Dental Insurance Works

Dental insurance is very similar to health insurance in one important way: in exchange for a monthly premium, you gain access to a variety of discounts on various healthcare services. However, while health insurance is largely focused on helping patients deal with sudden, serious problems (like a heart attack or car wreck), dental insurance is designed more for prevention. Basically, most plans are intended to help patients afford routine services so they can maintain optimum oral health and not need more extensive (and expensive) procedures over time. Keep this in mind as you read on.

What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers

No two dental insurance plans are exactly alike, but in most cases, the coverage breaks down something like this:

  • Checkups, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants are covered 80-100%.
  • Fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, extractions, and root canal therapy are covered 45-75%.
  • Teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, and direct bonding are typically NOT covered because they are deemed medically unnecessary.

So, if you’re looking to get the most out of your plan, the best approach is to focus on prevention, as in attend your two recommended checkups and cleanings each year. You’ll likely pay little to nothing out of pocket for these appointments, and they’ll dramatically reduce your need for the restorative services that receive less coverage, meaning you’ll spend less overall on your dental care (and enjoy better oral health as well).

We Offer In-Network Savings & Welcome Out-of-Network Providers

Jupiter Implant & Cosmetic Dentistry is proud to be an in-network provider for several of the most popular PPO dental insurance plans, meaning we’re able to offer patients the most amount of savings possible. However, we’re also able to work with out-of-network plans as well.

Unlike with health insurance, going out-of-network with your dental insurance doesn’t always mean you’ll spend a lot more…sometimes the difference can be negligible depending on your policy. In any case, if you’re thinking about coming to visit us, be sure to call ahead and ask about your insurance, and we’ll let you know exactly how you’ll be covered.
